August 24, Minsk /BELTA/. Parents of schoolchildren must pay for the use of a set of textbooks by October 1. The corresponding resolution of the Ministry of Education of Belarus has been sent to RUE "Belpochta" and OJSC "Belarusbank". It approves the fee for the use of textbooks this year. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Department of Socio-Economic Development of the Ministry of Education. Parents of preschool and school-aged children can pay 50% of the fee for the use of textbooks at local branches of OJSC "Belarusbank" or RUE "Belpochta". The cost of educational aids and workbooks for preschool institutions is as follows: for the textbook by L.S. Khodonovich "Journey to the World of Music" - Br1,610, L.S. Khodonovich "Journey to the World of Music" (workbook) - Br1,380, I.V. Zhitko "Mathematical Kaleidoscope" - Br1,580, I.V. Zhitko "Mathematical Kaleidoscope" (workbook) - Br1,680, D.N. Parents of first-graders will have to pay Br19,750 for a set of textbooks (the full cost of the set is Br39,491); for parents of second-grade schoolchildren, textbooks will cost Br17,260 (Br34,517); third grade - Br15,330 (Br30,661); fourth grade - Br15,740 (Br31,488); fifth grade - Br14,480 (Br28,961); sixth grade - Br18,910 (Br37,811); seventh grade - Br25,970 (Br51,934); eighth grade - Br35,590 (Br71,178); ninth grade - Br41,150 (Br82,309); tenth grade - Br34,240 (Br68,480); eleventh grade - Br29,900 (Br59,800).

Not all parents will have to pay for textbooks this academic year. This applies to parents whose children are enrolled in special general secondary schools, classes for children with psychophysical development disorders, and general secondary educational institutions of a sanatorium type. Also, parents of children with psychophysical development disorders who are studying in integrated classes should not pay for textbooks. Textbooks are provided free of charge to orphans and children left without parental care, disabled persons under 18 years of age, as well as certain other categories of citizens. To make a decision on the free use of textbooks and/or study aids or a reduction in fees for students from families who, in accordance with the legislation, receive state child benefits for children over three years of age, and for students from large families, the educational institution, organization, or individual entrepreneur shall request certificates on the amount of the assigned child benefit and the period of its payment, place of residence, and family composition, respectively. The fee for textbooks has been reduced by 50% for parents raising three or more children of preschool or school age.
