As part of the republican campaign "Do not leave children unattended" on the eve of the summer holidays, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations visited general school parent-teacher meetings.
Rescuers told parents about the dangers that schoolchildren most often face during the holidays. Special attention was paid to the issue of leaving children at home and outdoors unattended. They reminded fathers and mothers about observing fire safety rules, their personal responsibility, and the need to talk to children about safe behavior near water bodies, construction sites and abandoned buildings, railway tracks, and roads.
"When raising a child and instilling in them the necessary skills for safe behavior in everyday life, first and foremost, you, parents, must set a worthy example of behavior. After all, the main responsibility for preventing domestic injuries lies with the parents. Rational organization of childcare, caution, responsibility, self-discipline should play a leading role in preventing dangerous situations. The task of parents is to ensure their child's maximum safety – to instill skills of prudence, discipline, and safe behavior," – rescuers emphasized in their speeches.
At the end of the speeches, parents were given brochures and leaflets on fire safety.
