June 16, Minsk / Alina Grishkevich - BELTA/. Russia and Belarus will exchange views on how to act most effectively in international organisations. This was stated by the head of the Russian foreign policy department, Sergey Lavrov, today at a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

Sergey Lavrov emphasised that today, during negotiations in Minsk, the Belarusian-Russian parties will consider the implementation of agreements reached by the presidents of the two countries. "They meet regularly, and each meeting concludes with specific decisions that set us tasks for practical implementation," noted the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"We are currently in a qualitatively new situation – the treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union has been concluded, which creates new frameworks for our work to ensure its entry into force on January 1 next year," said Sergey Lavrov.

He also noted that a series of 70th anniversaries are currently taking place, including the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. "We will ensure our contribution to their celebration," assured the Russian minister.-0-
