3 February, Minsk /BELTA/. Russia will help Belarus to more quickly overcome the negotiation process for accession to the WTO. This viewpoint was expressed by the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Russia to Belarus, Alexander Surikov, during a video briefing dedicated to the prospects of cooperation between Belarus and Russia in 2012, according to a BELTA correspondent. The Ambassador emphasized that Belarus and Kazakhstan, with the help of Russia, which recently joined the WTO, will accelerate their accession to this organization. "It is obvious that with the help of our efforts, Kazakhstan and Belarus will more quickly overcome all stages and become members of the WTO," noted Alexander Surikov. "We will help, our negotiators will participate in the negotiation processes," he said. Answering a question about possible negative consequences for the countries, the diplomat noted that they will occur to a greater or lesser extent. "Regarding negative consequences. Yes, they will. Raw material sectors are marked by positives. For Kazakhstan, with its key raw material sector, joining the WTO is a positive.
