The subsidies for children's vouchers for the summer period of 2016 will increase by approximately 11%, Gennady Bolbatovsky, Director of the Republican Centre for Recreation and Health Improvement of the Population, informed a BELTA correspondent.

This summer, over 361,000 children have had recreation and health improvement in various types of camps, which is 5% more than planned. Comparable figures for children's summer health improvement are also projected for 2016, said Gennady Bolbatovsky.

As a reminder, the subsidy amounts for children's vouchers to camps during the summer holidays in 2015 were increased by an average of 16%. From the state social security funds, Br1.4 million is allocated for the subsidisation of one voucher to health improvement and sports and health improvement camps with 24-hour stay, Br580,000 for those with day stay, Br600,000 for specialised health improvement camps with 24-hour stay for at least 9 days, and Br650,000 for work and recreation camps with day stay.

During the summer health improvement campaign of 2015, 6,180 health improvement camps operated: 1,553 camps with 24-hour stay for children (including 152 stationary ones), and 4,627 camps with day stay for children. Teenagers aged 14 to 18 had the opportunity to improve their health, rest, and work in 995 work and recreation camps. The total funding for children's summer health improvement this year exceeded Br300 billion. Moreover, Br90.4 billion was used to prepare the suburban camps for the summer season.

Schoolchildren's health improvement is also traditionally carried out during autumn, winter, and spring holidays in day camps and specialised camps.
