January 8, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas, introducing the new head of the Ministry of Economy, Alexander Chervyakov, to the ministry staff, outlined the main tasks he will have to solve, BelTA reports.
First of all, the head of government noted that earlier, while working at the Ministry of Economy as deputy minister and first deputy minister, Alexander Chervyakov handled such major tasks as the development of the National Sustainable Development Strategy until 2035. "This is an extremely important document for our country. Especially since we will soon be working on the program for the new five-year plan," said Sergei Rumas. "The work that was carried out within the framework of the NSDS 2035 will, of course, form the basis of this work."
"You know the high bar that the head of state has set for us: GDP growth by the end of the next five-year plan should reach $100 billion," the prime minister noted. "This is the main task." At the same time, Sergei Rumas emphasized, these should not just be figures that show that with economic growth of about 5% per year this task can be solved: everything must be supported by specific projects. This includes exports and investments. The five-year plan program must detail all these qualitative components of fulfilling the task set by the head of state.
The next task that Sergei Rumas outlined for the new minister concerns the development of regional policy. "You personally supervised the program and the preparation of the decree on the Orsha district. You know that this project is currently under active development. Not all provisions of the decree have been fulfilled yet, but this is a matter for separate consideration," the prime minister noted. He recalled that a meeting on the Orsha district will be held with the head of state at the end of January. "We will all have to prepare together, see what has not been done, where efforts need to be made to fulfill the norms of this progressive decree," said Sergei Rumas.
