13 April, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Retail turnover in the Vitebsk region for the first quarter amounted to 116.9% of the level of the same period last year, against a target of 112-115%. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Trade and Services Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. In total, for January-March, goods worth Br5 trillion were sold to the population. In terms of turnover growth rate, the region ranks second among the regions of the republic after the Mogilev region (117.6%; for the republic - 107.4%). In the development of turnover, the positive trend of faster growth in the sale of non-food products compared to food products was maintained (130.9% and 106% respectively). Consumer demand was mainly met by the sale of Belarusian products. The share of domestic goods in the turnover of the trade network for January-March was 80.7%. At the same time, based on the results of work for January-February 2012, the highest growth rate of gross value added in section G (trade; repair of motor vehicles, household goods and personal items) in the region was achieved - 190.9%. "The share of the section in the structure of the region's gross regional product was 14.2%, which indicates its significant contribution to the economic development of the region," specialists noted. Overall, the consumer market of the Vitebsk region remains stable. The provision of food and non-food products to the population is carried out uninterruptedly and in a wide assortment.-0-
