In addition to receiving citizens, the authorized representative for religious and national affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Leonid Gulyako, held a meeting with the leadership of the district organization of the public association “Belaya Rus” in the conference hall of the district executive committee.
Currently, the district organization has about 430 members. The district organization is headed by Vera Zakrevskaya, director of the children's rehabilitation and health improvement center “Zhemchuzhina”.
During the discussion, the parties reached a common conclusion that there are no significant problems in the activities of “Belaya Rus” in the Lepel region. The most active individuals joined the organization.
In turn, Leonid Pavlovich noted that “Belaya Rus” should further intensify its activities and make itself heard more loudly. Using the example of one of the districts, he explained that it would be worthwhile to consider souvenir products with the public association's symbols.
Other issues were also touched upon. The deputy chairman of the district executive committee, Nikolai Nikitin, raised the issue of reconstructing the building of the district local history museum. It is planned to relocate it to the city center; the building was erected at the end of the 19th century. It requires major repairs, which will cost several billion rubles. The district budget alone cannot allocate the entire required sum, and assistance from the region, and possibly from the republic, is needed.
Vera Ivanovna focused on the leave entitlements of pedagogical workers in children's rehabilitation and health improvement centers. The fact is that a few years ago, the leave for teachers was reduced to 24 days. Later, the previous duration of leave was restored for school teachers, and then for educators in preschool institutions. However, the teachers of the centers continued to work under the previous conditions, despite facing no less workload. For example, over six thousand children pass through “Zhemchuzhina” alone each year, requiring constant professional engagement. Leonid Gulyako promised to raise this issue with the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, as it affects the interests of several departments.
Afterwards, Leonid Gulyako met with representatives of all religious communities of the Lepel region. Initially, the distinguished guest was introduced to some notable forms of cooperation. Joint Christmas concerts and prayers for Belarus, organized by representatives of all denominations, received high praise. The festival “Bethlehem Star” has long become a hallmark of Lepel.
