During the current period of 2020, 22 road traffic accidents involving taxis and buses (minibuses) owned by private enterprises engaged in commercial passenger transportation have occurred within the Vitebsk region. These incidents resulted in 2 fatalities and 30 injuries of varying severity.

An analysis of the traffic situation in the region indicates that violations of the Road Traffic Regulations by individual taxi and bus drivers, as well as non-compliance with other regulatory legal acts governing passenger road transport operations in both regular and irregular services, continue to occur.

Considering the need to take effective measures to stabilise the situation related to ensuring road traffic safety, from 14 to 20 September 2020, raid activities will be conducted within the Vitebsk region to monitor compliance with the Road Traffic Regulations by taxi drivers participating in road traffic. This will include checks for the presence of a permit for participation in road traffic, drivers' entitlement to operate vehicles, and other requirements of the legislation in the field of road traffic safety.
