From 15 to 24 September, the State Automobile Inspectorate is conducting a set of additional measures to ensure the safety of vulnerable road users.

Drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians at unregulated and regulated pedestrian crossings when the traffic controller's or traffic light's signal is permissive for both drivers and pedestrians simultaneously are subject to administrative liability in the form of a fine ranging from 1 to 5 base units.

A pedestrian involved in traffic movement during darkness outside illuminated road sections and not walking on the pavement must make themselves visible. When crossing at a pedestrian crossing, it is only recommended for pedestrians to make themselves visible with retro-reflective elements.

Liability for pedestrians who violate the Traffic Regulations is: from 1 to 3 base units for pedestrians, and from 3 to 5 base units for pedestrians who are in a state of alcoholic intoxication.
