Equipped with powerful engines, modern motorcycles, scooters, and mopeds are capable of high speeds. Some owners, clearly abusing the machine's capabilities, forget that stopping a motorcycle is significantly more difficult than stopping a car. This leads to road incidents. The ability to choose speed, maintain distance, and manoeuvre while adhering to safety conditions are the essential qualities required of a motorcyclist. Apparently, motorcycle owners understand all this until they get behind the handlebars. As soon as the engine roars to life, all good intentions vanish from their minds. It is surprising how some of them manage to avoid accidents.
Dear motorcyclists! You have mounted your motorcycle, and now your fate is in your own hands. First and foremost, you must become accustomed to observing the traffic regulations: 90% of your safety, both physically and legally, depends on adhering to these rules.
The main causes of road traffic accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles are riding without a licence and driving skills, and operating a "iron horse" that is in disrepair and has not passed technical inspection. Every third road traffic accident is committed by motorcyclists under the influence of alcohol. According to accident analysis data, road traffic accidents are committed, and unfortunately, young people aged 16 to 25 are often killed in them, carelessly assuming that bad things can happen to anyone but them. Due to their youth and lack of experience, many disregard elementary rules of conduct on the road.
Each new season sees the ranks of motorcyclists replenished with new road users. Naturally, their motorcycle riding skills are not extensive, which often leads to road traffic accidents.
The State Automobile Inspectorate once again appeals to all adults, including parents: if you witness a teenager preparing to ride a motorcycle in violation of safety rules, prevent this trip! Only through joint
efforts can we prevent tragedies and stop young, healthy people full of strength and energy from leaving this life!
The State Automobile Inspectorate draws the attention of motorcycle enthusiasts to the fact that the crucial condition for safe motorcycle journeys is strict adherence to the Traffic Regulations. It must always be remembered that a motorcyclist is less protected than a car driver, who can be shielded from injuries by the car body. Therefore, do not forget to fasten your motorcycle helmet, a device that can save your life and reduce the severity of injuries in accidents.
There is only one life – cherish it!
