According to clause 207-1 of the Road Traffic Regulations of the Republic of Belarus, when participating in road traffic from December 1 to March 1, vehicles with a technically permissible total mass of up to 3.5 tonnes inclusive, cars and light trucks with a technically permissible total mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes, as well as buses with a technically permissible total mass of up to 5 tonnes, must be equipped with winter tires. Winter tires are installed on all wheels of the vehicle and must comply with the requirements of the second part of clause 25 of Annex 4 to the Road Traffic Regulations.

Mechanical vehicle winter tires intended for operation on icy or snowy road surfaces must be marked with a symbol in the form of a mountain peak with three peaks and a snowflake inside it, or with the markings "M+S", "M&S", "M.S", "M S", or "All seasons". Winter tires are installed on all wheels.

It is also worth remembering the administrative liability for violating clause 207-1 of the Road Traffic Regulations, which, in accordance with part 5 of Article 18.22 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus, provides for administrative liability in the form of a warning or a fine of up to 0.5 basic units.
