The exhibition-competition of artifacts from the collections of the Houses of Crafts of the Vitebsk region "Relic" will introduce the ethnographic heritage of the region, BELTA was informed by the Vitebsk Regional Methodological Center of Folk Art (VOMCNT).

The exhibition includes the most interesting and authentic items of everyday life and traditional folk crafts. Among them are folk painting and icons, malyavanki; lubok woodcuts, glass painting, lacquer miniatures, pysanky, wooden sculpture, chests, artistic processing of birch bark, cooperage; blind and openwork carving, pottery, clay toys, kaflyarstvo; blacksmith products, artistic leather processing, hat making, items of folk clothing, embroidery and weaving in various techniques, knitting with a bone needle; artistic bone processing; wickerwork, spiral weaving from straw; wicker shoes, original musical instruments, etc. "All this diversity is designed to demonstrate our rich traditional folk culture, to awaken the interest of craftsmen and the public in its deeper understanding and the collection of unique monuments of everyday life," the center noted.

The exhibition opens today in the exhibition hall of VOMCNT. It will be available until December 16. During its holding, the winners of the regional exhibition-competition of traditional wedding headdresses and attributes "Bride's Wreath" will be awarded. -0-
