In order to prevent accidents on water bodies, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, together with young people from the primary organization of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and a representative of the water rescue society, conducted a preventive raid on the water bodies of the Lepel region.

Due to the rising temperature, the ice on the water bodies has become dangerously thin. Therefore, when interacting with ice fishing enthusiasts, special attention was paid to the mandatory presence of life jackets and improvised rescue equipment. All fishermen were informed about the tragic facts of people's deaths due to carelessness and overconfidence, reminded of the basic safety measures on water bodies, the procedure for actions in case of an emergency, methods of rescue from water, and elements of first aid.

During the raid, each fisherman and people near the water bodies were warned to observe the rules of conduct on melting ice, and were also given booklets with useful information as a reminder. Parents, in turn, were reminded not to allow young children to be near water bodies.

Dear parents, pay close attention to ensuring the safety of your children. Keep young children within easy reach, do not allow them to be near water bodies alone, and explain the dangers of going out on melting ice. If an accident occurs, report it to the rescue service by calling 101 or 112!
