With a working visit, the Lepel district was visited by Viktor Azarenok, a deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

  The parliamentarian met with the leadership of the district organisation of the Belarusian Public Association of Veterans, members of the district organisation of the "Belarusian Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan" NGO, and representatives of other public organisations to discuss the draft Law "On Amendments to Laws on Veterans' Issues".

  The event was attended by Igor Urban, Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, and Elena Serebro, chief specialist of the Ideological Work and Youth Affairs Department of the District Executive Committee.

  At the meeting of the second session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the eighth convocation, deputies adopted in the second reading a draft law that provides for additional benefits for certain categories of Great Patriotic War veterans, former prisoners of fascism, veterans of combat operations in other countries, spouses of deceased servicemen, etc.
