With the arrival of summer, a large number of people strive to go out of town, into nature, to relax on the shore of a lake or river, to fish or gather mushrooms and berries. While in the forest or on a body of water, some citizens do not consider it necessary to take care of the preservation and cleanliness of nature – they leave behind rubbish, empty bottles, thereby polluting the environment.
Rubbish is one of the most visible traces of human presence in the forest. Leaving household waste (paper, cardboard, plastic and glass bottles, etc.) behind, we do not think about the fact that this rubbish contains various chemical compounds that poison our land, water, air and harm our health.
All rubbish should be taken away and disposed of where it is collected and processed. If possible, it is worth cleaning up the rubbish left by other people, especially plastic and glass.
The Rules for conducting fishing and angling in the Republic of Belarus state that anglers engaged in amateur fishing are obliged to maintain the proper sanitary condition of fishing grounds, and not to leave rubbish and other waste on their banks. When arriving for fishing by car, it must be parked at a distance of 30 meters from the shoreline of the water body. Lessees of fishing grounds are obliged to maintain the proper sanitary condition of the leased fishing grounds.
Violation of the Rules for conducting fishing and angling entails administrative responsibility provided for by Part 4 of Article 16.25 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus, the sanction of which provides for a fine of up to ten basic units, for an individual entrepreneur – up to twenty-five basic units, and for a legal entity – up to fifty basic units.
Citizens who come to fishing grounds simply to relax should also clean up after themselves and treat the conditions created for them with care.
