The winners of school Olympiads, young innovators and inventors, outstanding students, and the most active individuals are invited by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, for the New Year. An unforgettable meeting will take place today at the Palace of Independence – the venue for momentous political negotiations and summits, significant economic meetings, and encounters with world leaders. A vibrant program, gifts, and informal communication with the Belarusian leader will be a real surprise for 250 prodigies. Representatives from the country's regions shared their expectations from the upcoming meeting with a BELTA correspondent.

Each of these talented young people has participated more than once in republican and international conferences and forums, and has distinguished themselves in university public activities. The most gifted and talented receive support from the Special Fund of the President. For instance, Sergey Zhuk, a student at A.S. Pushkin Brest State University, is studying "History and Political Science." His research work is highly regarded: he is a scholarship holder of the Special Fund of the President for the Social Support of Gifted Students and a laureate of the Republican Competition of Student Research Papers. He expects the upcoming event with the President not only to summarize the results of scientific and public work in higher education but also to define the directions for the following year. "Undoubtedly, on the eve of the New Year, one wishes for everything to take place in a festive atmosphere," the young man added.
