According to tradition, the Mother of God appeared to the praying people in the Blachernae Church in Constantinople. In the common people, this holiday was called Pokrov Day.

This morning, festive divine services were held in all churches of the Lepel region. The Church of the Nativity of Christ in Lepel was particularly crowded.
