Today, the Vitebsk Concert Hall is honouring the recipients of the "Person of the Year of the Vitebsk Region – 2025" award. This honorary title has been bestowed upon 53 representatives from various fields who have made a significant contribution to the development of the northern region of Belarus.
The solemn event is attended by: Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeenko, Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Rogozhnik, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Vladimir Yurgevich, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov, members of the Council of the Republic, deputies of the House of Representatives, distinguished workers of the national economy, labour veterans, and delegations from cities and districts of the Vitebsk region.
As emphasized by Alexander Rogozhnik, the working person has always been and remains the main asset of the state, thanks to professionalism and dedication. Hardworking people with enormous potential live and work in the Vitebsk region.
– 2026 marks the start of a new five-year period. The socio-economic development program for our country for 2026-2030 has been approved. Ahead of us lie many challenging but important tasks that we must tackle together. Special attention should be paid to the industrial complex, the modernization of the agricultural sector, and the revival of villages, as well as the search for new growth points in the economy. The tourism potential of the Vitebsk region, its natural uniqueness, and rich cultural heritage will not be overlooked, – noted the head of the region, expressing confidence that through common purposefulness and discipline, we will be able to overcome all difficulties and make the northern region comfortable and prosperous.
Before the ceremony began, participants and guests viewed an exhibition of paintings by contemporary artists "Vitebsk Muses" and an exposition of traditional women's clothing of the northern region, dedicated to the Year of Belarusian Women.
Products from enterprises of the Vitebsk region are also presented in the foyer of the concert hall.
The honorary title "Person of the Year of the Vitebsk Region" has been awarded in five nominations: "Industry, Trade and Services, Financial Activities, Small and Medium-sized Businesses", "Agro-industrial Complex, Environmental Protection, Forestry", "Housing and Communal Services and Road Management, Construction and Architecture, Fuel and Energy Complex, Communications, Transport and Logistics", "Social Sphere (Social Protection of the Population, Culture, Education, Science, Sports, Healthcare, Youth)" and "Ensuring Legality and Law and Order, Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies, Activities of Local Government and Self-government Bodies, Public Organizations".
The current ceremony honouring the laureates is the seventeenth. Over the past period, more than twelve hundred people have become holders of the honorary title.
