The event commenced with a concert by the folk instrument ensemble "Garmoniya," comprising teachers from the Borovaya School of Arts, held in the club's foyer.
The concert was favoured by good weather, which contributed to the creation of a special atmosphere for the musical celebration.
The ensemble's fans are people of different ages and professions. Some love it for its soulfulness and lyricism, others for its festivity; each experiences their own emotions.
The attendees were met by Leonid Azhevsky, Advisor to the Representation of the Standing Committee of the Union State, Veronika Khombak, Deputy Chairperson of the District Executive Committee, and Pavel Tsykun, Head of the military sanatorium.
Veronika Aleksandrovna welcomed everyone to the hospitable land of Lepel and noted:
— For centuries, Russians and Belarusians have preserved the traditions of friendship and brotherhood, carrying through the decades memories of our losses and suffering. We speak the same language and have much in common in our history. Our ancestors repeatedly defended their native lands in fierce battles.
Thanks to this deep connection, we are strengthening the economic, political, spiritual, and cultural relations between our peoples.
Leonid Azhevsky, Advisor to the Representation of the Standing Committee of the Union State, emphasised in his speech that today Russia and Belarus are jointly defending historical truth, educating the new generation of citizens in respect for their great heritage, and preserving the peace won at the cost of millions of lives.
As a memento, he presented commemorative gifts to the head of the sanatorium.
The vacationers were also not left without surprises. Souvenirs were presented to them as a memento of the Lepel land.
From May to December of this year, 105 veterans and disabled individuals of the Great Patriotic War and combat operations are scheduled for sanatorium and resort treatment: 52 vouchers for citizens of the Republic of Belarus and 53 vouchers for citizens of the Russian Federation.
