26 January, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Agricultural enterprises must start operating without state subsidies. This requirement was set for the Vitebsk region farmers today at a meeting of the regional executive committee by the President's aide - chief inspector for the Vitebsk region, Nikolai Domashkevich, BELTA correspondent reports. The head of state spoke about the subsidy-free, profitable operation of agricultural enterprises at the IV All-Belarusian People's Congress. Partners of Belarus in the Single Economic Space - Russia and Kazakhstan - insist on reducing state investment in the sector. At the same time, according to the President's aide, agricultural and processing enterprises in the region are not receiving significant funds due to the low quality of raw materials. For example, in 2010, one of the milk processing enterprises had to return almost 2 thousand tons of milk to farms due to its low quality. The losses of agricultural enterprises amounted to Br19 billion. According to Nikolai Domashkevich, in 2010, the lost profits of agricultural enterprises in the region in animal husbandry exceeded Br53 billion, which is equivalent to the monthly wage fund of these organizations. -0-
