Seven Wonders to be Chosen in Belarus

The "Seven Wonders of Belarus" project is planned to be implemented in the republic, as announced today by the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Alexander Radkov, during his visit to the A.S. Pushkin Central City Library in Orsha, BELTA correspondent reports.

In accordance with the project's title, the plan is to identify the seven most significant places in Belarus that every resident and guest of the country must visit. "This list could include the Brest Hero-Fortress, St. Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk, Byinichskoye Field, Mir and Nesvizh Castles. When selecting such places, I would like to see not only religious sites, but also our places of heroic glory, cultural and social sites, and the holy places of our people. It is important that they are located in different regions of the country, so that by visiting them, people can travel all over Belarus," said the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration.

Alexander Radkov clarified to the BELTA correspondent that the project is currently in its conceptual stage and the ways of its implementation have not yet been discussed in detail. "It is planned to implement it through broad public discussion and the involvement of an expert commission," he added. It is possible that a public vote will be organized on the BELTA website to select the seven wonders of Belarus.

In the Orsha district, Alexander Radkov today participated in a seminar for the ideological asset of the Vitebsk region on the topic "The Role of Social Sphere Institutions and the Region's Ideological Asset in Preparing for Local Council of Deputies Elections." -0-
