Interaction of FEZ "Vitebsk" with CIS countries has intensified. This was stated at the forum dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the FEZ by the head of the administration of the Vitebsk Free Economic Zone, Mikhail Skurat, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
Despite external sanctions pressure, businesses have promptly reoriented themselves, learned to adapt, and sought new ways to implement their ideas, noted Mikhail Skurat. "Foreign investments continue to flow from investors from Poland, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Spain, Romania, Latvia, Iran, and Russia," he informed.
FEZ residents currently cooperate with more than 50 countries. As of June 1, they had exported goods worth $340 million, with total trade turnover exceeding $500 million.
"Interaction with CIS countries has intensified. Growth in exports to Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan has been achieved," said the head of the FEZ administration. "Residents carry out trade and economic cooperation with 71 regions of Russia, with exports to Russia amounting to $217 million (growth rate - 123.6%)."
Over 60% of the total volume consists of exports of insulated wires, cables, televisions, monitors and projectors, fiberglass and products made from it, as well as equipment for water purification and treatment, linen fabrics, processed fish, plastic packaging, and flat rolled products made of tinplate.
The forum "FEZ: Opportunities and Prospects for Business in New Conditions" brought together about 140 people today. Participants in the discussion included representatives of city and regional authorities, ministries and departments, the Embassy of India, heads of resident enterprises, and business partners of FEZ "Vitebsk".
