The major reconstruction of Secondary School No. 3 began several months ago, and with the arrival of the winter holidays, the work has intensified. As reported by Leonid Khatskevich, director of the Lepel communal repair and construction unitary enterprise "Budounik", production teams of concreters, plasterers, tilers, and painters, numbering twenty-five people under the leadership of foreman Oleg Krulev, are currently working. In addition, subcontractors from Lepel's "Transservis" and from Vitebsk are also involved.

Reconstruction is underway on the second and third floors – in classrooms and corridors. The school's sports hall with changing rooms and restrooms is also under scaffolding. "Transservis" is installing PVC windows. Concreters are pouring the floor, preparing it for tiles and linoleum. Plasterers have started on the walls. After plastering, painters will whitewash and paint them.

The school corridors are unrecognizable – everything is filled with construction scaffolding, covered in lime, cement, and paint. The classrooms, where work is nearing completion, look completely different. Soon, Secondary School No. 3 will be unrecognizable! In the last month and a half alone, builders have utilized 2 billion 600 million rubles. In 2014, "Budounik", according to its head, plans to utilize another five billion rubles. The facade will be reconstructed and the roof repaired. A new sports complex will be built. Gravel-sand mixture is being delivered for backfilling. Old utility buildings will be demolished to make more space for the sports complex.
