Registration for training at this unique school will be available on the Open Day of the Labour Affairs Headquarters, which will be held on April 12 at the P. Masherov Vitebsk State University. Practical activities will be organised to help students master the specifics of working as counsellors and organisers in children's camps. A total of 12 people will attend this programme, and over the course of a month, they will undergo a series of training sessions on effective communication, icebreaker games, team building, leadership identification, and practical sessions on developing, preparing, and conducting unit, camp-wide, and sports events.
The classes for the "rookies" will be conducted by members of the "New Leadership Squad" ("NLO"), which has been recognised as the best pedagogical squad in the country for several consecutive years. "Its 9 members spent last summer as counsellors and organisers at the 'Komsomolsky' children's camp (Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai). Despite it being their first experience working outside Belarus, the team performed exceptionally well: based on the results of the Labour Semester - 2016, 'NLO' was recognised as the best outbound student squad of the republic," the BRSM Regional Committee emphasised.
Also, during the Open Day, an event titled "Choose a Student Squad!" will be organised for students, with the main slogan for this year being the short but meaningful phrase "Work is Cool!". At the event, all those wishing to find employment will be able to fill out application forms to join student squads. Such promotional events are aimed at popularising student squads, creating opportunities for self-realisation, and preserving the traditions of the student squad movement. They will be held not only at VSU but also in all higher education institutions, secondary vocational schools, and vocational-technical education institutions in Belarus, including the Vitebsk region.
