Six Activities on the Sixth Day
The main activities are health lessons and labour education. On Saturdays, eighth and ninth graders participate in volleyball and basketball competitions. Every second Saturday of the month is designated as Health Day. The school hosts sports festivals such as "Sportlandia Calls You," "Strength and Grace," "Viva, Skipping," and others. Recently, "Clean Yard" campaigns were held, where children tidied up the school grounds after winter. Meanwhile, tenth and eleventh graders prepare for exams and centralized testing on Saturdays.
Do Plants Change Colour?
The "Amazing Plant Experiments" club is led by biologist Alina Bastynets. Students in grades 6-8 conduct unconventional experiments: they dye fabrics with onion skins, extract dyes from autumn leaves and houseplants, and change the colour of plant pigments, for example, turning primrose flowers from red to blue, etc. The work of seventh-grader Kateryna Zalizniak took first place at the district research conference on chemistry.
The Roads We Choose
A series of class hours have been held for graduating ninth and eleventh graders. A parent meeting titled "The Roads Our Children Choose" was organized, and a press conference was held with former school graduates, attended by police officer Dzmitry Vershalouski, and students Lilia Harbionak from Vitebsk State University and Yulia Izmaylovich from Polotsk State University. They spoke about the specifics of university admission and shared their experiences of student life. The students presented symbolic gifts to the guests.
Children participated in excursions to the post office, the outpatient clinic, and the pharmacy. A talk titled "My Parents' Professions" and a drawing contest "My Future Profession" were held. In the "Skilled Hands" club, classes on the theme "Kaleidoscope of Professions" were organized. The results of career guidance were summarized at a pedagogical council meeting.
Months Become Weeks
Due to the school's small size, with only forty-eight students, thematic weeks – both subject-specific and educational – have been decided to be held instead of monthly events.
This year, weeks of health, legal knowledge, career guidance, civic-patriotic education, family, and ecology have been held. A mandatory condition for each week was the organization of a series of educational and entertaining events. The most recent event was the Family Week: students from grades five to nine created family trees, and class hours on family education were conducted.
