The competition has long been a landmark event in the life of Lepel region, so it is
not surprising that the "flying ball" gathered many fans.
Before the start of the tournament, the благочинный of the Lepel district, Archpriest Sergiy Leshkevich, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech and wished them a successful game.
The competitions took place over two days in the sports halls of the gymnasium named after I.M. Erashov of Lepel and secondary school No. 3, which were open to students born in 2006 and younger. Winners and prize-winners were determined by the number of points scored. In case of a tie in points between 2 or more teams, the winner was determined by a head-to-head match, by the ratio of sets between the competing teams, by the overall ratio of sets, and also by the ratio of points scored in sets between the competing teams.
During these days, many classmates of the team members "retrained" as fans during breaks and after classes, and followed the game.
In the serious volleyball "battles," excitement and speed, the joy of victory and the bitterness of defeat were intertwined. The competition in each set was very interesting and exciting, and at times unpredictable. It was unclear until the very end who would be the finalist.
The competition participants fought with dignity in each set, and the fans derived great pleasure from watching the magnificent games.
For example, the first confrontation between the teams of secondary schools No. 1 and Borovskaya named after G.K. Zhukov was strong, and it was felt that the guys were serious. The match ended with the victory of SS No. 1.
No less tense battles took place in the matches among other teams.
The students from rural schools deserve praise. It was not easy for them to compete with older volleyball players, but they gained valuable experience from the game. A real battle unfolded in the final between the team of Slobodskaya secondary school named after N.M. Pshyonko of Lepel district and the college, which lasted more than 50 minutes. It was unclear until the end who would take first place in the tournament table.
It's time to talk about the prize-winners and winners. The gold among the girls was "taken" by students of the gymnasium named after I. M. Erashov of Lepel, and the silver victory was won by SS
No. 1, the girls from Secondary School No. 3 took third place.
Among the boys, the "bronze" was won by students from Secondary School No. 3, second place was taken by the team from Sloboda, and the highest step of the podium was occupied by the team from Lepel State Agrarian-Technical College.
