A symbolic farewell to the Br1,000 banknote will continue at the National Art Museum of Belarus on June 27. As reported to BELTA by the museum, the NAMB has extended the "Goodbye, Thousand!" event.
It was previously announced that such an event would take place on June 26. Throughout the day, museum visitors could see the exhibition by paying only Br1,000 for admission. The facade of the National Art Museum and a fragment of one of the paintings in the permanent exhibition are depicted on this very banknote. However, not everyone who wished to say goodbye to the Br1,000 banknote on June 26 was able to. Due to public demand, the event will continue today.
The ticket price to the National Art Museum of Belarus throughout the day will be Br1,000. Visitors will be able to participate in the events planned at the museum. A vote will be held, during which visitors can choose a canvas themselves for display at the "Exhibition of a Single Masterpiece." Paintings from different eras will be presented for public judgment, and you can vote for one of them with your admission ticket.
A special museum quest will not only test your erudition but also tell you about the connection between some museum canvases and the places depicted on banknotes. Participants in the quest, upon completing all tasks, will receive commemorative souvenirs.
A creative interactive area will give everyone the opportunity to restore colour to the familiar monochrome image on the reverse side of the Br1,000 banknote. To do this, it will be enough to find Ivan Khrutsky's work "Portrait of an Unknown Woman with Flowers and Fruits" in the permanent exhibition, a part of which was used in the design of this banknote, and to receive the prepared drawing materials.
