The Investigative Committee of Belarus will assess the actions of all officials involved in the criminal case regarding the procurement of a turbine for the Berezovskaya GRES. This was announced by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Valery Vakulchik, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent. "We have repeatedly met with the Prosecutor General and the Chairman of the State Control Committee to properly organize the investigation of this criminal case," said Valery Vakulchik, noting two aspects. The first is what happened, who is guilty of committing the crime, and the second is compensation for damages. "Currently, the government and officials of the Ministry of Energy are taking the necessary measures to ensure that this turbine is delivered and put into operation. On the other hand, we must assess the actions of all officials involved in the procurement of this particular turbine and under such conditions as it occurred," emphasized Valery Vakulchik. In this regard, the work continues and is being carried out both in Belarus and in the Russian Federation and Ukraine. The Investigative Committee of Belarus is sending its investigators and requests there. "We have already clarified the flow of funds and how they were used by the supplier. There are questions there too. It's all not simple, as we have to reconstruct what happened several years ago," said the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, adding that the turbine was supposed to be delivered back in 2010. The main investigative department of the Investigative Committee is investigating the criminal case on the fact of damage caused during the supply of a turbine to Berezovskaya GRES. Back in early 2011, a Russian enterprise was supposed to supply a turbine for the hydroelectric power station under a contract, but failed to fulfill this obligation, resulting in significant material damage to the state. In Vitebsk, Valery Vakulchik is participating today in a regular coordination meeting on the organization of interaction between the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor's offices in solving the tasks of combating crime and ways to improve the effectiveness of joint law enforcement activities.-0-
