On the Day of Union of Russia and Belarus, the district organization of the NGO "BelTIZ" and visitors of the day care department of the Territorial Center for Social Services met with their Russian friends via Skype. This meeting was a jubilee one. Exactly two years ago, the first Skype conference took place.

The idea to use the latest technologies in communication came to the chairperson of the district organization of the NGO "BelTIZ", Olga Sokolovskaya. She shared it with Alexey Shevchenko, who advised her to get in touch with friends from Balakhna – the youth information club for people with disabilities "Ramоnak". Now, Skype conferences are organized every quarter. Some have already managed to make friends and "chat" on Skype personally.

This time, the jubilee meeting was dedicated to the theme of the union of our peoples. The head of the Russian club, Olga Kumanyayeva, spoke about the sports event they attended in Nizhny Novgorod. She noted that, incidentally, Belarusians also came to it. And Denis Ablavushka from Lepel shared his impressions of the Smolensk competition "Together We Can Do More," where he became a second-degree laureate. The friends also talked about everyday concerns and agreed to meet "in real life": the Russians are expecting the Belarusians as guests in May.
