However, holidays are always a challenging period not only for parents but also, undoubtedly, for the staff of the State Automobile Inspectorate. As a rule, most traffic accidents involving children occur during the period when they spend most of their free time outdoors.
Therefore, we would like to offer some advice to both drivers and, of course, parents.
Children do not always perceive danger outdoors and exhibit inconsistent actions. Drivers, aware of this, must perceive the appearance of a child on the roadway or even at the edge of the pavement as an alarm signal, because a child may unexpectedly change direction.
In order for a child to better learn the safest route, you can, for example, allow them to act as a guide, so that they choose the path themselves and justify their opinion. This approach largely helps to identify and correct mistakes that a child may make in a timely manner.
At the same time, out of every 20 cases, 19 are repeated; 9 out of 10 injured children did not notice the approaching vehicle in time and mistakenly believed they were safe; six out of ten injured children ran onto the road from behind stationary objects.
One incorrect action by parents in front of a child or with them can negate many correct instructions. Therefore, there should be no rushing with a child on the road, no extraneous conversations while moving, and no violations of the rules for crossing streets and roads.
Dear adults! To preserve your child's health and life, instill in them road discipline, cultivate a sense of caution when crossing the roadway, and remind children daily about the need to follow pedestrian traffic rules.
Dear drivers! Considering that traffic is complicated by changing weather conditions: wet snow, rain, slush, frost, and as a consequence – slippery road surfaces, we ask you to be especially attentive when operating vehicles and to comply with the Traffic Rules and the rules for the safe transportation of children in cars. Very often, it is parents who neglect the elementary rules for young passengers: they transport babies in the front seat of the car, which is strictly prohibited by the rules, forget to fasten the child with a seat belt, not to mention the installation of a special child car seat.
Be especially careful with children. Do not leave them unattended on the street. Be an example for children in observing traffic rules. Cherish the life of the child that you yourself have given them!
