The grand opening of the XXVII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" will take place today in the Summer Amphitheatre, BelTA reports.
The forum's launch is accompanied by a whole ceremony. Brass bands, drummers and majorettes will attract the attention of townspeople and guests to the venue of the Summer Amphitheatre Cultural and Sports Complex with music and drum rolls at noon. Here, at noon, next to the flags of the participating countries, another flag will be raised – the festival flag. A little later, nearby on the Star Square, the recipient of the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus "Through Art – to Peace and Understanding", Roza Rymbaeva, will receive her star. And then, from the already established star, attention will shift to the artists whose creative path to success is just beginning – at the same venue, the draw for the semi-final of the XXVII International Pop Song Performers Competition "Vitebsk-2018" will take place.
Meanwhile, the intrigue of the XVI International Children's Music Competition "Vitebsk-2018" will, on the contrary, be resolved by this time: the gala concert and awarding of the winners will take place in the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall at 17:00. In the evening, the Grand Prix winner, among others, will take the stage of the Summer Amphitheatre at the opening ceremony of the forum at 20:30. The programme features beloved artists, long-time friends of the forum, and new faces: Nikolay Baskov, Irina Allegrova, Zara, Igor Nikolaev, Oleg Menshikov and his orchestra, Svetlana Bezrodnaya and the "Vivaldi-Orchestra", the art group "Turetsky Choir", the Moscow State Academic Dance Theatre "Gzhel"; Inna Afanasyeva, Irina Dorofeeva, Ruslan Alekhno, Anatoly Yarmolenko and the ensemble "Syabry"; Goran Bregović and the "Wedding-Funeral Orchestra", Emir Kusturica and "The No Smoking Orchestra", Raphael, Natalia Oreiro, Taisiya Povaliy, Roza Rymbaeva, Dimash Kudaibergen, and many others.Full houses are also expected at other venues of the forum. The Moscow Contemporary Art Theatre (Russia) will present a performance on the stage of the National Academic Drama Theatre based on the play by Boris Ratser, one of the most famous authors and co-authors of Soviet dramatic hits, "California Tango".
The Belarusian "Lyalka" Theatre invites children and their parents twice a day to "Puppet Quarter". Here, the musical fantasy tale "The Bremen Town Musicians" will be shown. And the full festival will come to the festival streets: the first events of the IV Street Art Festival "On Seven Winds" - performances by dancers, musicians, artists, performers, theatre actors, the medieval fire show "The Tale of the Dragon" and much more - will take place on the territories near Pushkin Bridge and on the adjacent square, on Tolstoy Street, near the Centre for Modern Art, in Frunze Park, near the "Lyalka" Theatre. And from 20:00, visitors in Frunze Park will join the NON STOP performance procession dedicated to the opening of the "On Seven Winds" festival. All its participants will march noisily to Pushkin Square, where their spectacular performance will take place.
The XXVII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" will be held from July 12 to 16. Additional events are planned for July 9-11 and 17-18.
