The XXVIII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" is ceremoniously closing today, BELTA reports.
The intrigue of the XXVIII International Pop Song Performers Competition "Vitebsk-2019" will finally be resolved. The participants have already performed, the scores have been awarded – following two days, the participant from Kazakhstan is leading by a significant margin. However, whether this is definitively the Grand Prix and how the other prizes will be distributed is up to the judges. The award ceremony will take place in the afternoon at the forum's press centre, and in the evening, at the closing gala concert in the Summer Amphitheatre, the winner will share the stage with renowned artists such as Vyacheslav Dobrynin, Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Nadezhda Kadysheva, Aleksandr Marshal, Soso Pavliashvili, MBAND, Litesound, Irina Dorofeeva, and others. Incidentally, the programme also features the premiere of a song by Sofia Rotaru, written especially for "Slavianski Bazaar".
Concerts will also take place on other festival venues on this day: Italian musical passions will ignite in the Summer Amphitheatre – beloved melodies will be presented in the Viva, Italia programme by In-Grid, Pupo, Savage, Riccardo Fogli, Antonio Maggio, and others. And at the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall, the group "Surganova and Orchestra" will celebrate its 15th anniversary.
Theatregoers will have the opportunity to meet old friends of the forum – the Moscow Theatre on the South-West, which will present a tragicomedy titled "Baba Chanel" on the stage of the National Academic Drama Theatre.
In the Holy Assumption Cathedral, participants of the "Slavianski Blagovest" choral music festival will gather for a gala concert.
On the closing day of "Slavianski Bazaar", the police are inviting children and adults to participate in the campaign "For Safety Together!". From 14:00, an interactive quest programme will unfold on Victory Square, including training on traffic rules and first aid, concert performances, a visual demonstration on the benefits of seat belts in a rollover car, an introduction to the canine assistants of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Security Department, photo zones, and demonstration performances.
In the evening, also on Victory Square, the state ensemble of folk instruments "Metelitsa" (Russia) will perform, whose melodies will later be succeeded by more youthful acts – a vocal and dance show, a performance by the Russian group Outback, and a non-stop dance party by famous MCs and DJs with the participation of Egor Kanna and Nikita Fominykh.
