26 October, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The Investigative Committee of Belarus has established effective interaction with the prosecutor's offices. This assessment of cooperation between the two departments was given in an interview with a BELTA correspondent by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Valery Vakulchik.
In Vitebsk, he is taking part in a scheduled coordination meeting on the issue of organizing interaction between the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor's offices in solving the tasks of combating crime and ways to improve the efficiency of joint law enforcement activities.
Valery Vakulchik noted that the leadership of the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor's offices in each of the regions of the oblast will hold scheduled meetings on the issue of organizing joint work (Vitebsk was the first on the schedule). "Together with the prosecutor's office, we are carrying out the task of organizing pre-trial proceedings in criminal cases, therefore, we need to jointly develop solutions for a higher quality and more efficient resolution of this task. Holding such meetings will help this work on the ground," emphasized the Chairman of the SC.
Overall, Valery Vakulchik gave a high assessment of the joint work. "Interaction is established quite effectively. At the same time, it is important that the prosecutor's office takes a principled and objective position here, so we are determined to further improve our work," he said. Of course, individual issues arise, but they are resolved in a working manner and do not interfere with the high-quality performance of the main task by the departments, added the Chairman of the Investigative Committee.
The meeting was also attended by the Prosecutor General of Belarus, Alexander Konyuk, and representatives of the courts. -0-
