The next meeting of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly is planned to be held after the presidential elections. This position was announced by the President of Belarus, Chairman of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting of the Presidium of the Assembly, according to a BELTA correspondent.
Alexander Lukashenko recalled that presidential elections will be held in the country on January 26 and spoke about developing a program to be presented to the citizens. "Since we have a certain unity, the current President's program, which is being developed by all of us today, will be a guideline in January, even December, for all the Belarusian people. However, we will be able to detail the tasks for the coming year and, perhaps, a vision for the five-year period based on this program after the presidential elections," said the head of state.
Upon completion of the event, the Head of the Belarus President's Administration, Dmitry Krutoy, confirmed that most likely, a decision will be made to hold the next meeting of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly after the presidential elections: "Because there is currently an election campaign underway. There is simply no point in distracting from these issues. Secondly, as the President said, an election program with key messages will be prepared (and he is currently working on it)."
"Then the President will begin preparations for the Address. This is traditionally in the spring for us. I would not want to name specific dates and months right now, they have not been determined. And on the eve of the Assembly meeting, the Presidium will be convened again to align positions and finally coordinate the issues to be submitted to the Assembly. It seems to me to be an absolutely simple and transparent structure," added Dmitry Krutoy.
