7 March, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A fitter from Glubokoye has been sentenced for stealing spare parts from agricultural machinery, Dmitry Orekhva, senior prosecutor of the department for supervision of the legality of court decisions on criminal cases of the Vitebsk region prosecutor's office, informed a BELTA correspondent.
During the spring sowing campaign of 2011, a fitter from Glubokoye Rayagroservice, together with two accomplices, employees of the same enterprise, stole leaf springs from various machinery to a total value of Br25 million, which were then sold to an acquaintance, an individual entrepreneur.
For the theft committed on a large scale, the man has been sentenced to five years and six months of imprisonment. It is noteworthy that less than a year before committing this crime, the resident of Glubokoye had already been prosecuted for a similar offense: while working as an agronomist in one of the district's agricultural enterprises in 2010, he stole an entire agricultural unit, causing the farm particularly large damage. At that time, the court sentenced him to five years of imprisonment with a two-year suspension of the sentence. -0-
