A gathering of senior citizens of the Union State, "We are for Active Longevity," is planned to be held in Vitebsk.
"Deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly have familiarised themselves with the activities for developing the Union State event 'Union Gathering of Senior Citizens "We are for Active Longevity." The proposal to prepare the event was adopted at a meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia on September 4, 2023, in Pskov. The estimated number of participants is 250 people, with 125 from each state; the venue is Vitebsk," the press service reported.

The gathering is scheduled for three days, during which interactive sessions are planned for exchanging best practices and initiatives for implementing national strategies for the benefit of elderly citizens and active longevity. "Parliamentarians noted that the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Belarus is currently working on preparing a budget application for financing this event from the Union State budget. Deputies who are members of the Parliamentary Assembly Commission on Labour, Social Policy, and Health will continue to monitor the progress of the event's development," the press service added.
