September 7, Minsk /BelTA/. Traditionally, employment services in all regions of Belarus have assisted young people in finding jobs during their summer holidays, with over 27,000 pupils and students being employed. This was reported to BelTA by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.
"During the summer period, many schoolchildren and students were able to not only rest but also earn money. Young people were offered work, including landscaping and improvement of educational institutions and social sphere facilities, repair of educational furniture, restoration of library book collections, and production of sewing and souvenir products," the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection informed.
During the season, the employment service concluded 1.9 thousand agreements with employers, utilising funds allocated for the financing of population employment measures. Thanks to this, 23.3 thousand pupils were able to take up temporary jobs during the summer.
Additionally, by the summer, the employment service had compiled lists of organisations willing to hire young people from June to August. Consequently, 3.9 thousand young people were employed using funds from employers.
The vacancies primarily offered included packer, sales assistant, fish and seafood processor and packager, and green construction worker. The list of organisations was updated weekly and published on the portal of the State Employment Service and on the websites of local authorities.
The ministry reminded that the employment service provides jobs for schoolchildren and students year-round, offering vacancies for their free time outside of studies.
