A Conscious Step Towards a Noble Cause

Everyone who chooses service in the internal affairs bodies makes a conscious step towards the noble cause of protecting the life and health of citizens, the interests of society and the state from criminal and other unlawful encroachments. Citizens under the age of 28, with general secondary, vocational-technical, secondary specialized or higher education (depending on the intended position), are accepted for service in the internal affairs bodies. Not prosecuted for criminal offences. Found fit for service in the internal affairs bodies by the military medical commission. Most importantly – capable, by their moral and business qualities, of performing tasks to protect the life, health, honour, dignity, rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens, the interests of society and the state from criminal and other unlawful encroachments. The level of education and specialty to some extent determine the position a candidate can hold. For example, individuals with higher education, as well as certain specialties of secondary specialized education, can apply for an officer position.

General secondary education can be obtained at the Educational Institution "Specialized Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus" and the Educational Institution "Mogilev Specialized Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus"

The training of qualified specialists for internal affairs bodies on a full-time basis is carried out by two departmental higher education institutions of our ministry: the educational institution "Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus" and the educational institution "Mogilev Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus". Upon graduation, graduates of police higher education institutions receive a diploma of higher legal education with the qualification of "lawyer" or "lawyer with knowledge of economics", and by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs, they are awarded the first officer special rank of "lieutenant of militia".

The selection of applicants is carried out in accordance with the normative acts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Preliminary study, special verification, and medical examination of candidates are conducted. There are age restrictions: in the year of admission, the candidate must be at least 17 years old and not more than 25. Those wishing to obtain a police profession must contact the territorial internal affairs body before April 15. Citizens with general secondary, vocational-technical, or secondary-special education can enroll in full-time education. The duration of study on a full-time basis is 4 years, and on a part-time basis – 5 years. Candidates are accompanied until admission and are helped to collect the necessary documents.
