In recent years, the Prosecutor General's Office has noted a steady trend of decreasing the total number of crimes, including grave and especially grave ones. Thus, over the last 3 years, the number of murders has decreased by 45%, and the number of robberies and muggings - by 50%. "This is not only the result of the work of law enforcement agencies, but also evidence of an increase in the legal culture of society," Grigory Vasilievich is confident. Cities and towns have been transformed, the environment and living conditions of people are changing, which also leads to a change in citizens' legal awareness, he added. At the same time, the Prosecutor General's Office intends to pay the closest attention to working with citizens' appeals, including strengthening supervision over the activities of executive authorities and economic entities in terms of fulfilling their direct duties. "The Prosecutor General's Office will more strictly demand compliance with laws from them, and will also raise the issue of bringing negligent performers to strict disciplinary responsibility," said Grigory Vasilievich. This work will be carried out, including through the system of controlling bodies, in order to influence the improvement of citizens' lives. There are also issues with the work of the prosecutor's offices. Thus, on December 8, Grigory Vasilievich received citizens at OJSC "Belshina". "The appeals received indicate that at the local level, including by law enforcement agencies, the necessary measures were not taken to resolve them," stated the Prosecutor General. Following the reception, Grigory Vasilievich dismissed the prosecutor of the Leninsky district of Bobruisk from his position due to improper performance of duties. In addition, recently the Prosecutor General reprimanded the prosecutor of the Grodno region for weak work with citizens' appeals.
