In 2020, despite a decrease in the number of road traffic accidents involving children, the number of injured and deceased minors in them increased in the republic.

Since the beginning of the current year, 58 minors have been injured on the country's roads, and five have died, three of whom were in March.

In order to promptly respond to the developing situation in the field of road traffic safety, and to increase the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in eliminating the causes and conditions of road traffic injuries involving minors, a nationwide preventive campaign to prevent child road traffic injuries, "Protect Children!", will be held from April 2 to April 9, 2021.

During the campaign, preventive discussions will be held in work collectives and educational institutions regarding the safe transportation of children and the organised transportation of children by bus. To provide assistance to citizens and organise traffic flow, State Automobile Inspectorate patrols will be deployed to the busiest sections of the street and road network directly adjacent to educational institutions, and the street and road network adjacent to them will be inspected.
