Lepel rescuers cannot stand aside and offer to remind plot holders how to do this safely.
- As practice shows, an uncleaned plot becomes a potential site of an incident in spring, and to prevent this, cleaning work must be carried out in autumn, - advises senior inspector Ponizovets Artem.
- To avoid becoming a victim of an emergency situation in spring, start cleaning now, but do not burn rubbish recklessly – warns the Ministry of Emergency Situations specialist. - In any case, this must not be done when it is windy outside: a harmless flame can turn into huge damage. If the weather is favourable, before lighting a fire, choose a location that is away from nearby houses and outbuildings. Place a bucket of water and a spade next to the fire, and if you have a fire extinguisher – use it. This way you have created safe conditions for it to burn, however, do not forget that burning rubbish is a controlled activity and you must not leave "for your own affairs" for even a minute. And when the fire has died down, to be absolutely sure, douse it with water.
