The formation of a unified migration space will be discussed on October 31 in Minsk at a meeting of the commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia for Security, Defence and Crime Prevention, BelTA was informed by the press service of the assembly.
"Deputies will be presented with information on the activities of ministries and departments of Belarus and Russia on the implementation of the action plan for the formation of a unified migration space in the territories of the states participating in the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State for 2017-2020," the press service noted. "In particular, it is planned to discuss the preparation of draft concepts for the migration policy of the Union State, agreements between the governments of Belarus and Russia on the exchange of information on refugees and asylum seekers from third countries, as well as on the procedure for exchanging data on citizens of third countries subject to travel restrictions, and the executive protocol on the procedure for its implementation."
Parliamentarians will also consider the implementation of the Union State program "Improvement of military infrastructure facilities planned for joint use in the interests of ensuring the regional group of troops (forces) of Belarus and Russia for 2018-2021". In addition, the results of the Union State event "Military-Patriotic Camp for Students of Suvorov Military (Nakhimov Naval) and Cadet Schools of Belarus and Russia" held in 2019 will be summarised.
In addition to the union parliamentarians, representatives of the Standing Committee of the Union State, the ministries of defence, foreign affairs, internal affairs, border services of Belarus and Russia, as well as the Ministry of Education of Belarus will take part in the meeting.
