A meeting of the Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly on Social Policy, Science, Culture and Humanitarian Affairs will be held in Vitebsk on February 19, BELTA was informed by the Public Relations and Media Interaction Department of the Parliamentary Assembly.
Deputies will discuss priority areas and immediate tasks for the further development of the Union State for 2018-2022 in forming a common cultural and information space, study the problems and prospects of activities to expand Belarusian-Russian cooperation in the field of culture, and consider plans for the development and implementation of socio-cultural projects, programs and events in the Union State.
Representatives of the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Ministries of Culture of the two countries, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Ministry of Education of Belarus, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, as well as heads of cultural institutions and organisers of festival events will take part in the commission's work.
The experience of the regional executive committee in developing interregional cultural ties and contacts with the regions of Russia will be presented to the participants of the meeting. Deputies will meet with the regional leadership and visit museums and other cultural institutions.
