10 July, Vitebsk /Alena Tikhonenkova - BELTA/. Solo concerts by Alexander Malinin and Kristina Orbakaite will take place today in festival Vitebsk, a BELTA correspondent reports.
People's Artist of Russia and Ukraine Alexander Malinin will take the stage of the Summer Amphitheatre with a programme featuring beloved romances and new compositions in Russian and Ukrainian. Honoured Artist of Russia Kristina Orbakaite will present her solo programme "Kiss for an Encore" in festival Vitebsk, which premiered in 2011.
These will not be the only meetings of the artists with the Vitebsk public. Both stars will participate in the grand opening of the XXII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" on 11 July.
Young talents, participants of the XI International Children's Music Competition, begin their competitive programme today. Apollinaria and Alexandra Laktionova represent Belarus at the competition. The girls will perform under numbers 18 and 20. According to the competition rules, on the first day, participants perform a song by a composer in the language of the country they represent. Apollinaria will take the stage with the song "Kanapelki" (authors V. Belovich, G. Romanovskaya), and Alexandra Laktionova will present the composition "Vadaspad", written by the girl's teacher, head of the V.G. Muliavin National Centre for Musical Arts, Svetlana Statsenko.
The XI International Children's Music Competition features 21 young talents from 18 countries. Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine are represented by two participants each. The "children's bazaar" includes Narek Sahakyan (Armenia), Apollinaria and Alexandra Laktionova (Belarus), Presiana Dimitrova (Bulgaria), Anastasia Dzhordzha Bosanchich (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Celine Hansen (Germany), Lenka (Georgia), Marko Cattaneo Vittone (Italy), Venera Sagi (Kazakhstan), Jana (Latvia), Juste Dumčiūtė (Lithuania), Magi (Macedonia), Rafael (Moldova), Ksenia Gozha and Dayana Kirillova (Russia), Bianca (Romania), Alena Tikhonenko (Uzbekistan), Galina Dubok and Arsen Shavlyuk (Ukraine), Helmi Holström (Finland), Alika (Estonia).
The gala concert and award ceremony for the laureates of the XI International Children's Music Competition "Vitebsk-2013" will take place on 12 July.-0-
