June 19, Minsk /BELTA/. The first working meeting of the group established by the President's order to study problematic issues in the construction industry and develop specific measures for their resolution has taken place. This was reported to BELTA by the Administration of the President of Belarus.
Members of the working group discussed in detail the negative aspects existing at all stages of the construction process and developed a joint plan for upcoming work.
Following the discussion, the Head of the Administration of the President of Belarus, Andrei Kobyakov, who was appointed by Alexander Lukashenko as the head of the working group, carried out an initial distribution of responsibilities in accordance with the professional skills of each member and set tasks for study and consideration at upcoming meetings.
"It is expected that to solve the tasks set by the Head of State, the working group members will meet at least twice a week. The next meeting of the working group is scheduled for June 20. The focus will be on the work of the customer services, including the low efficiency of the activities of the State-Owned Construction Units (UKSs) of local executive and administrative bodies," the Presidential Administration noted.
As noted on June 14 at a meeting with the Head of State, the scope of activities of the UKSs of local executive committees is currently one of the most problematic areas, ranging from gaps in the current regulatory legal framework, lack of transparency in the spending of funds, low quality of housing construction, unsatisfactory author's supervision by designers over construction, high staff turnover and low professional level of personnel, to manifestations of corruption.
It is expected that the members of the working group, whose activities will be focused on these issues, will thoroughly analyze the accumulated problems and propose specific measures for their resolution.
After joint discussion, the proposals will be formalized and sent to state bodies and organizations for the immediate elimination of the identified shortcomings.-0-
