An on-site meeting of the interdepartmental council on the rights of persons with disabilities was held with the participation of representatives of interested services.

The progress of implementing the measures of the State Program "Social Protection for 2021-2025" for the further creation of an accessible environment for people with disabilities and physically weak individuals in the Lepel district was reviewed.

The bus station, the sports and recreation center with a swimming pool, residential buildings in the agro-town of Stai and in Lepel – these facilities were visited by specialists.

Tactile paving, voice informers, handrails, ramps, tactile signs – the presence of these and other elements of an accessible environment was checked by the council members. "If a healthy person can easily find a way out of a situation on their path, then people with disabilities must be treated with understanding, and the facilities being equipped should be considered from the perspective of their convenience and comfort of use," emphasized Veronika Khombak.
