The IX International Scientific and Practical Seminar for students, undergraduates, postgraduates, teachers and employees of the "Forestry" specialty will be held at the Braslav Lakes National Park from May 20 to 25, BelTA was informed by the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The event is organised by the V.F. Kuprevich Institute of Experimental Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus with the participation of the Braslav Lakes National Park. The seminar for students, undergraduates, postgraduates, teachers and employees will be held on the topic "Dynamics, state and monitoring of forest ecosystems in specially protected natural areas". More than 50 participants from 18 research institutions and higher education institutions of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Russia and Ukraine are expected to attend.
Scientific and practical sessions will be organised on the territory of the Braslav Lakes National Park, the Dvinsk Experimental Forest Base of the Institute of Forest of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the Verkhnedvinsk Forestry. Specialists will be acquainted with the practice of carrying out main and intermediate logging, sanitary and improvement measures, other types of forestry activities, as well as selection and genetic objects of the Institute of Forest. The seminar plans to consider proposals and discuss joint projects for submission to various funds, state programs, as well as the prospects and results of the implementation of joint grants.
"The result of the seminar's work will be the consolidation of efforts, experience and knowledge of scientists, teachers and practitioners in assessing the effectiveness of restrictions and prohibitions established for specially protected natural areas and individual objects of flora," the press service noted.
The event is dedicated to the Year of Small Motherland, the Day of Environmental Education, the International Day for Biological Diversity, the 100th anniversary of the Moscow Forest Technical Institute (now the Mytishchi branch of Bauman Moscow State Technical University) and the 75th anniversary of the Institute of Forest Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
