As reported, on March 7 at 8:00 AM, the Rosson Department for Emergency Situations received a report of a fire in the 3-story building of the Masherov Rosson Secondary School. Four units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene. Together with the school administration, 575 children and 36 teachers were evacuated. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there were no casualties from burns or carbon monoxide poisoning as a result of the incident. The school building was not damaged, only the walls were smoke-stained. According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire was the careless handling of fire by an unidentified person, which led to the ignition of stacked waste paper.
Several schoolchildren, frightened by the heavy smoke, began to jump out of the windows and sustained injuries of varying severity. Initially, eight injured children sought medical attention; seven were hospitalized at the Rosson Central District Hospital, and then six of them were transferred to the Children's Regional Hospital. One injured child has already been discharged home.
