Employees of the Vitebsk Regional Committee for State Control were compelled to organise the delivery of mineral fertilizers from a warehouse to a farm in Ushachy District, the Regional Committee for State Control informed a BELTA correspondent. The Committee for State Control conducted control measures concerning compliance with the requirements of industry regulations in the cultivation of winter crops for next year's harvest, specifically regarding the application of mineral fertilizer rates in three farms in the district. Violations were identified in all of them: the necessary fertilizers for grain crops were not applied. For example, at KUSHP "Glybochany", winter rapeseed was sown on the entire cultivated area without the application of phosphorus fertilizers. At OJSC "Velikodoletskoye", mineral fertilizers were also not applied to winter rapeseed and colza. A similar situation occurred at KUSHP "Kublichi" with winter wheat. In the latter farm, specialists from the control authority had to perform duties not typical for them and organise the delivery of phosphorus fertilizers because the head of the agricultural organisation was unable to do so. In accordance with the plan for the application of mineral and organic fertilizers for winter crops of the 2012 harvest, developed by the Vitebsk Regional Design and Survey Station for Agricultural Chemistry, these agricultural organisations did not have areas that did not require the application of mineral fertilizers. This year, Ushachy District ranked last in the region in terms of grain and leguminous crop yields – 21.5 centners/ha (regionally – 28.8 centners/ha). The materials from the control measures have been sent to the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Ushachy District Executive Committee for their review and the adoption of response measures.-0-
